How to cleanup your computer - Part 2

Getting a lot of advertisements popping up when browsing the internet? Unwanted software called malware can make it's way into your computer. To get rid of this software you need to run scans with special programs. To do this follow these instructions...

1. Go to the website http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html and download Spybot - Search & Destroy.
2. Once it is downloaded, install it and run it. You can do this by double clicking on the file you downloaded.
3. When you run the program it is going to ask you a few things. Leave everything checked the way it is, and click "Next". When you get to the screen that says "Select Additional Tasks" make sure to uncheck the "Use system settings protection (TeaTimer)" check box.
4. Once the program is installed, start it up. It should be located in your "Start" menu.
5. When the program runs it will ask you to create a registry backup. Just click "Next"
6. When it gets to the screen that says "Search for updates" click on the "Search for updates" button.
7. Click "continue" and then click "Download". This will download the latest updates for the software. Once the update has completed, you can click "Exit" on the update screen.
8. Now you can click "Check for Problems". Let this scan run, it could take a while so go get a drink.
9. When the scan is finished, you can simply click "Fix selected Problems"

Your computer should now be rid of spyware!
